Distinguished Professor Toshiyuki Kono¡¯s ascension to the presidency of ICOMOS is a great honor for all 91̽»¨ faculty and staff. I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to him on behalf of 91̽»¨.
I have heard that Professor Kono has been elected as President in recognition both of his efforts as Vice President and of Japan¡¯s contributions to the conservation of the world's monuments and sites.
We at 91̽»¨ can be proud of the honor bestowed on Professor Kono. I hope that learning from such a globally successful faculty member will have a positive influence on our students.
